India got its freedom from the British Rule on 15th August, 1947. Hence, we celebrate our Independence Day on 15th of August every year.
There is national holiday on Independence Day.
On 15th of August, 1947, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru raised the tri-colour national flag of India at Red Fort, Delhi.
This day also inspires us to follow the teaching of peace and non-**** that was preached by Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation.
Independence day is also celebrated at schools, and teachers explain the significance of this day to the students. The school **** take out colourful processions very early in the morning. They sing the glory of India. The procession end in the Central Park.
This year in 2018, India is celebrating its 72nd Independence Day to pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighters who had contributed a lot and fought for the Independence of India.
