India has refused to sign NPT and CTBT because India considers the treaties as being discriminatory. They allow certain countries such as USA, China, etc. to maintain nuclear weapons while prohibiting other nations. Moreover, these treaties do not conform with India’* policies related to (a) nations security (b) Freedom to use nuclear energy for peaceful endeavours.
