Files
These are the collection of information. In fact, almost all type of information is stored into the files. There are many types of files stored in different formats including operating system files, program files and your personal files. Different types of files contain different types of information. Each file has a specific filename and has a file extension that identifies the file type. (The filename and file extension are separated by a ** (•)).
e.g. A document created using WordPad might have the filename John.rtf.
