A large part of South America ** within the tropical zone and is, therefore, hot. The apparent movement of the sun has an impact on climate of South America. The climate is, however, also influenced by a number of other factors such as the presence of the Andes Mountains, the height of a place above sea level, prevailing winds, nearness to seas and oceans, and impact of ocean currents such as * warm Brazilian Current and the cold Peru Current.
