Three factors :
(i) Uneven heating of earth'* surface.
(ii) Rotation of the earth.
(iii) Local conditions - such as change in pressure.
Three limitations:
(i) Can be used where wind blows for a greater part of the year.
(ii) Wind speed should be higher than 15 km/h.
(iii) Establishment is expensive and requires large area.
