When your friends arrive at your door simply welcome them by saying "hello" or "good morning/evening". Then call him inside and offer water, tea or coffee. Also, ask them for dinner.
This is the best way to present welcome to your friends.
If they arrive suddenly when you are not ready for that, then say him hello and ask they're good also about their family.
