(i) Why is it necessary to conserve our environment ?

(ii) State the importance of green and blue dust-bins in the safe disposal of the household waste.

(i) Two reasons for the conservation of the environment are :

(a) To save air, water and soil from pollution.

(b) To maintain ecological balance in nature.

(ii) Green dustbins (for biodegradable waste), and blue dustbins (for non-biodegradable waste) are meant for proper disposal of waste without wasting time and energy in segregating the biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes.
