Explanation:

Amphibians have evolved from fishes but Archaeopteryx cannot give any proof in favour of this. Archaeopteryx is the connecting link between birds and reptiles. The class amphibia include all those animals which live partly in fresh water as well as partly on land. They are the lowest and earliest tetrapods which first of all successfully descended on land from some fish like ancestors possibly in Devonian time. They are characterised by their outstanding features and thus stand in between the fishes and reptiles.
