Explanation:

If a person is injured, he should be given blood. The blood group O can be given to a patient of any blood group (if both donor and patient are Rh compatible). Blood group O has anti A and anti B antibodies in serum but no antigens. Due to the absence of antigens, O blood group can be recognised as tire universal donor.
