In a hospital an oxygen cylinder holds 10 L of oxygen at 200 atm pressure. If a patient breathes in 0.50ml of oxygen at 1atm with each breath, for how many breaths the cylinder will be sufficient. (Assume that all the data is at 300 C.)

Apply Boyle‘* Law P1 V1= P2V2

200 x 10 = 1 x V2

V2 =2000 L

No. of breaths = Total volume/ vol. consumed per breath

=2000/0.5 x 10-3L

=4 x 106.
