Correct option (a) Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A

Explanation :

Water has high specific heat or thermal capacity (mass x sp. heat). It cools slowly and heats up slowly and exchange of heat is large in each case. The area coast does not continue to be hot or cold. The temperature is therefore moderated.
