‘SarvaShikshaAbhiyan’ is a significant step towards providing elementary education to all the **** of the age group 6-14 years by the year 2010. It is a time-bound initiative of central government, in partnership with the states, the local government and the community for achieving the goal of universalisation of elementary education. They also took an initiative to increase the enrolment of students in elementary education by introducing the schemes like mid-day meal.
