Sir
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw your kind attention towards the ‘Vanmahotsava week’ celebrated in our school. In facts, Vanmahotsava, the festival of trees, is celebrated every year in the country in a bid to raise awareness about the importance of tree and encourage people to plant more and more trees. Accordingly, the festival was celebrated in our school. Usually, held from July 01 to 07, the festival finds mass participation of people including government agencies, civic bodies and educational institutions across the country who come together every year to plant saplings because the survival of the human race wouldn’t have been possible without trees. Trees are the only source to clean the environment as they give us life giving oxygen. The greenery everywhere contributes to enhance scenic beauty here there and everywhere. And these trees save the soil and earth from soil erosion. In the absence of trees, there will be no life on the earth. So it is the responsibility of the government to frame laws against cutting the trees and whosoever distorts Nature should be penalised. People should be encouraged to plant at least one tree every month so the environment of the country may be saved.
Yours truly
Rama
