The ‘Ouija Board party’ proved to be disastrous for John Hallock. This is a very ironic statement and could be proved wrong because ultimately Hallock got a plot to write a ghost story. It was disastrous because it might have destroyed his marital relationship. He met Helen, the ghost in the story, while he was thinking of a plot for his ghost story. However, when the mention of Helen came up, Hallock’* wife suspected him of having an illicit or extra-marital affair with Helen. She was about to leave the household when she confronted Helen, smiled and found out how silly her presumptions were. Because in the arrival of the ghost, the Ouija Board party and the skeptical nature of his wife, he found the “bulliest plot for a ghost story.”
