Describe the irony in the poem Ozymandias.

The condition of the statue and the inscription on the pedestal are ironical. The statue was completely shattered. Only two legs stood on the pedestal and the head was lying in the sand. Whereas, the inscription said ‘look upon my work, ye Mighty and despair’, and ‘king of kings’. Such a mighty and powerful king who looked down upon everyone else, was destroyed. It conveys that nothing is stable in this world; everything is subject to change and decay.
