Drill inculcates a sense of discipline, improves bearing, smartness in appearance and turn out, arises self-confidence, develop the quality of immediate and implicit obedience to orders and teamwork. In addition to these qualities, drill brings about the co-ordination between mind and body and serves as the basis for imparting other service training.
