Best answer

The correct option (b) 9

Explanation:

x = [(x1 + x2 + x3 + x4)/4]

also (x1 – x) = – 1, (x2 – x) = – 3, (x3 – x) = – 5,

Now ∑(xi – x) = 0

∴ (x1 – x) + (x2 – x) + (x3 – x) + (x4 – x) = 0

∴ – 1 – 3 – 5 = – (x4 – x)

∴ 9 = x4 – x

∴ x4 – x = 9.
