Correct option: (B) M1 L–1T–2

Explanation:

Modulus of rigidity = η = [(shearing stress) / (shearing strain)]

= {(F/A) / (x/L)}

Considering dimensions, x/L is dimensionless

∴ Dimensional formula for η = [(Force) / (Area)]

= {[M1L1T–2] / [L2]} ------------- F = m × a

i.e. F = m × (* / t2)

= [M1L–1T–2]
