The woollen textile industry is not well developed in India due to the following reasons.
India is a tropical country. Hence, the need for woollen garments is limited to the winter months only.
Indigenous wool is of poor quality. India has to depend on imports from USA and Australia to meet its demand for better quality raw material.
Wool is expensive. Garments made from synthetic textile are cheaper
