A recombinant DNA is formed when sticky ends of vector DNA and foreign DNA join. Explain how the sticky ends are formed and get joined.

The vector DNA and foreign DNA are cut by the same restriction enzyme like EcoRI to form the same kind of sticky-ends. Then these sticky ends are joined by the enzyme DNA ligase.
