A thin bronze cylinder of 250 mm internal diameter and 6 mm thick is wound with a single layer of 1.5-mm-thick steel tape under a tensile stress of 100 N/mm2. Find the maximum internal pressure if the hoop stress in the cylinder is not to exceed 50 N/mm2. Determine also the tensile stress in steel tape. For bronze E = 117N/mm2, v = 0 33 and for steel E = 208kN/mm2.
