Meteors are small pieces of rock which enter the earth’ atmosphere occasionally at very high speeds. Because of friction caused by the atmosphere, they become very hot and emit radiations for a very short time before they get completely burnt. The streak of light that is seen as a result is called a ‘*** star’. The speed of a meteor is 51 kms–1 In comparison, speed of sound in air at about 200 C is 340 ms–1 Find the ratio of magnitudes of the two speeds.
