Each question contains statements given in two columns, which have to be matched. The statements in Column I are labeled A, B, C and D, while the statements in Column II are labeled p, q, r, and t. any given statement in Column I can have correct matching with ONE OR MORE statements () in column II. The appropriate bubbled corresponding to the answers to these questions have to be darkened as illustrated in the following example : If the correct matches are A – p, and t; B – q and r; C – p and q; and D – and t; then the correct darkening of bubbles will look like the following.

| Column – I | Column – II |
| (A) N2(g)+3H2(g)⇋ 2NH3(g), ∆H = –ve | (p) K increases with increase in T |
| (B) N2(g)+O2(g)⇋ 2NO(g), ∆H = +ve | (q) K decreases with increase in T |
| (C) A(g)+B(g)⇋ 2C(g), ∆H = +ve | (r) Pressure has no effect |
| (D) PCl5(g) PCl3(g) + Cl2(g), ∆H = +ve | () Product increases when He is added at constant P. |
| | (t) Products
* increases when He is added at constant V |

Best answer

Correct option (A)q ; (B)p,r ; (C) → *p, ; (D)p,s**

Explanation:

  • For exothermic reaction, ∆H = –ve, ↑ in T backward whereas for endothermic, ↑ in T forward.

  • Reactions for which ∆ng = 0, pressure has no effect .
