The distribution of the equipotential surfaces of some field is given by Fig.. It is also known that V1 > V2. Draw on this figure the approximate distribution of the lines of force of this field and indicate their direction. Determine in which region the field intensity is larger.

The lines of force are always perpendicular to equipotential surfaces and are directed towards the lower potentials. The field intensity is larger in the regions in which the equipotential surfaces are more dense See Fig..
