Context : This poem is a beautiful ballad. It is autobiographical because the poet points out his disappointed love with a French lady. The knight is Keats himself. The knight says that he met a very beautiful girl in a meadow. He presented her different kinds of flower garlands and seated her on his horse. The lady expressed her love for him by arranging tasty plants, honey and a divine food.

Explanation : In this stanza the poet describes how much that lady loved the knight. She took him to her mysterious cave. To show her deep love for the knight she wept bitterly and sighed. She assured him that she was very faithful in her love for him. The knight was so much overpowered that he kissed her again and again. The lady closed her passionate eyes and enjoyed the intense love expressed by the knight.
