(i) चूंकि ∑P(X) = 1

∴ 0+k+ 2k + 2k + 3k + k2 + 2k2 + 7k2 + k = 1

⇒ 10k2 + 9k-1 = 0 ⇒ (10k – 1) (k + 1) = 0

⇒ k = 1/10, -1 क्योंकि P(X) ≥ 0

∴ k = -1 नहीं हो सकता

अतः k = 1/10

P(X < 3) = P(X = 0) + P(X = 1) + P(X = 2)

= 0 + k+ 2k = 3k = 3/10

...
