The steps for the construction are given as below:

Step 1: Let AD be the base and draw a line of 6 cm name it as A and D.

Step 2: Now use compass and open it to any convenient radius. And with A as center, draw an arc which cuts line segment AD at X .

Step 3: Again use compass and opened to the same radius (as of step 2). And with X as center , draw an arc which cuts first arc at Y .

Step 4: Again use compass and opened to the same radius (as of step 2). And with Y as center , draw another arc which cuts first arc at Z .

Step 5: Again use compass and opened to the same radius (as of step 2). And With Y & Z as center , draw two arcs which cuts each other at P

Step 6: Join AP and extent it. Above formed angle ∠GAD = 90°

Step 7: Again use compass and open it to any convenient radius. And with A as center, draw an arc which cuts line segment AD at M and AB at N.

Step 8: Again use compass and opened to same radius (as of step 8).And with M & N as center and, draw two arcs which cuts each other at point F

Step 9: Join AF and extend to E. thus ∠DAF=45°

Step 10: Draw an arc of 6 cm on a compass with the help of ruler. Mark that point as B, thus AB =6 cm

Step 11: From point B take a distance of 3.6 cm in a compass with the help of ruler. Draw an arc

Step 12: From point D take a distance of 5 cm in a compass with the help of ruler. Draw an arc which cuts the arc of 3.6 cm. And mark that point as C.

The rough sketch of the fig is given below:
