To understand and demonstrate the mechanism of Evolution there is a great role of Charles Darwin in which Adaptive radiation is one of the major factor.
Thus, structural and physiological changes to cope with adjustment of body according to Environment is called Adaptation which may be slowly or rapidly.
Darwin observed a special type of ***** small birds (= Darwin finches) on Galpagos island and felt that such various type of Finches are found only in that island. Such hypothetical all type of Finches were developed in that island. Such finches birds could have adapted to feed on cotyledon of seeds. But, by the modification of beak, such finches birds became Insectivorous or Carnivours. Thus, evolution of various species in a geographicl area is called Adaptive radiation.
