The circuit shown below is working as a 8 V dc regulated voltage source. When 12 V is used as input, the power dissipated (in mW) in each diode is; (considering both zener diodes are identical) _____.

Current in circuit = 4/400 = (1/100) A

So power dissipited in each diode = VI

= 4 x (1/100) W

= 40 × 10–3 mW
