Micro organisms are used to prepare butter, yogurt, cheese, idlis, dosa etc. Single cell protein ( SCP) can be produced from algae, bacteria, microbes etc. It is done in yeasts. It provides a valuable protein rich supplement in human diet. Microbes are employed to enhace the availability of nutrients to crops.
