You meet an old friend on your way home. After exchanging pleasantries, your friend keeps talking about his/her past. You ore in a hurry as you hove to take your uncle to the dentist. How do you end the conversation?

(a) Talk to you later. I hove to take my uncle to the dentist.

(b) I am sorry, but I have to go now. My uncle is waiting for meta take him to the dentist. What is the difference between the two? Which one would you prefer? Why?

b) It’* more polite. It shows that although the speaker would like to continue the conversation, he can’t because of unavoidable reasons.
