(a) Multiplied so that the product is a perfect cube.

243 = 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 3

= 33 × 32

Hence, to make it a perfect cube we should multiply it by 3.

(b) Divided so that the quotient is a perfect cube.

243 = 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 3

= 33 × 32

Hence, to make it a perfect cube we have to divide it by 9.
