One child norm’ introduced in China the late 1970’ as the major reason for the population growth. This measure led to decline in the ** ratio, ie. the proporation of females, for 1000 males. For instance, after a few decades in China, there will be more elderly people in propotion to young people. This will force China to take steps to provide social security measure with fewer workers.
