Common difference (d) = Second term – first term
= 8 – 3
= 5
We know that, nth term (an) = a + (n – 1)d
And, given nth term an = 248
248 = 3+(n – 1)5
248 = -2 + 5n
5n = 250
n =250/5 = 50
∴ 50th term in the A.P is 248.
