The ASEAN (Association of Southeast ***** Nations), was established on 8th August 1967 in Bangkok of Thailand with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration by the founding fathers of ASEAN, viz. Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Brunei (1984), Vietnam (1995), Lao PDR and Myanmar (1997) and Cambodia (1999) entered as the member states of ASEAN.
The ASEAN Vision 2020 adopted by the ASEAN leaders on the 30th anniversary of ASEAN, agreed on a shared vision of ASEANS as a concert of Southeast ***** Nations, outward looking, living in peace, stability and prosperity, bonded together in partnership in dynamic development and in a community of caring societies.
