Best answer

2/3x – 3/2x = 1/12

By taking LCM for 3x and 2x which is 6x

((2×2) – (3×3))/6x = 1/12

(4-9)/6x = 1/12

-5/6x = 1/12

By cross-multiplying

6x = -60

x = -60/6

= -10

Let us verify the given equation now,

2/3x – 3/2x = 1/12

By substituting the value of ‘x’ we get,

2/3(-10) – 3/2(-10) = 1/12

-2/30 + 3/20 = 1/12

((-2×2) + (3×3))/60 = 1/12

(-4+9)/60 = 1/12

5/60 = 1/12

1/12 = 1/12

Hence, the given equation is verified.
