What are the characteristics of Red soils?
Red soils are more sandy and less clayey. So they do not retain moisture. Red soils are ideal for the cultivation of ragi, millets, groundnuts, tobacco and potato. A variety of crops can grown in these soils if there are irrigation facilities.
