In 2006, ‘Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme’ was launched. The scheme aims at providing wage employment for a minimum of 100 days in a year to at least one ***** member of poor households. The statutory minimum wages are paid through bank or post office accounts and equal wages are paid to male and female workers.
