Some people say that you ‘re a dear, yet dear is far from cheap.

A jumper is a thing you wear, yet a jumper has to leap.

It’ very clear, it’ very *****, and pray who is to blame for

different meanings to some words, pronounced and spelt, the same?

(i) What are the two meanings of’dear’as used here?

(i) ‘Dear’ can either be used as an affectionate term, or as a synonym of ‘expensive’.

(ii) A jumper.

(iii) That words with the same spelling and pronunciation sometimes have different meanings.
