When their is a relative motion between source and observer then their is change in wavelength as well frequency which is called the Doppler'* effect
Red shift : When their is a receding case (moving away from each other) between two then wavelength will increases that called red shift.
Blue shift : when their is approaching case (moving towards each other) between two then wavelength will decrease called blue shift.
