Ore : A mineral from which a metal can be extracted economically and conveniently is called 'ore'.
To choose a mineral as an ore the following are to be considered :
(i) The percentage of the metal in that mineral.
(ii) The metal can be profitably extracted from it or not.
(iii) Convenience of extraction of metal.
