(b). The Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence are a set of principles to govern relations between states. The agreement was signed between India and China on 29 April 1954.The five principles of the panchsheel are :

• Mutual respect for each other’* territorial integrity and sovereignty.

• Mutual non-aggression.

• Mutual non-interference in each other’* internal affairs.

• Equality and cooperation for mutual benefit.

• Peaceful co-existence.
